Jesus Says He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Saying that One is the Truth, the Way and the Life is a very powerful statement...Then to add that You are the only Way to God is quite a claim...Yet, Jesus, says these things humbly to His Disciples...
Truth and love are closely linked, and work together...When Jesus said He was Truth, we must believe that He is our Absolute Truth and that Truth is a Person...Absolute Truth has Complete Understanding and therefore, is Complete Knowledge...And Jesus showed His LOVE through all His deeds, including the knowledge that He has...We see much knowledge in His miracles...We see His Great Healing Knowledge, in all His healings...
If we look at Truth as something being acquired through knowledge and data, and that knowledge has power and is power then that can become a problem...Truth, in Jesus, is not about more and more knowledge...Jesus never looked down on anyone...If we think our personal knowledge is a power for ourselves then we run the temptation to seeing ourselves as better than others, if we believe that we possess more knowledge than another...Love is not about being better than another or about being a possessor of having more knowledge than someone else...Love is not selfish, but giving unconditional to others or another...Love is self giving and power is one of the least of conditions in unconditional love...
