John 18:37-38
Jesus and Pilate discuss Truth
37 "You are a king, then!" said Pilate.
Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
38 "What is truth?" Pilate asked. With this he went out again to the Jews and said, "I find no basis for a charge against him.
John 14:6

John 16:13
Spirit of Truth
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
Right before Jesus' crucifixion, He and Pilate have a short discussion on Truth and what Truth is...Pilate asks Jesus the question "What is Truth?...I think Pilate had a good question, but did not realize that he was looking right into the Eyes of Truth...I think Jesus' Truth is dependable, tested, trustworthy, eternal and the never changing... As St. John's gospel tells us He is the Logos, the purpose of the world God created...Jesus came from God, is equal to God, and identified Himself and God as One...This is Truth...Truth is a Person...So Truth is Personal...
So as one thinks about Truth, and what they believe is truth, truth is personal for each one of us...Man's truth is really our own thoughts and how we think that match up to our own realities...When we see or think something and it matches a or our reality then it is a truth for us...And as our thoughts and our realities meet together this is how many of us think about truth...
Jesus' Truth and His perspective would probably be different from how Pilate sees and we see Truth...We know earlier in John's Gospel, Jesus says I am the way, the Truth and the life...Jesus admits that He is Truth...He is the Truth of God and is from God...
When linked with the compassion of the Holy Spirit, the gospels become far more than man's truth...The Holy Spirit guides us to this Truth...And that Truth is that Jesus is The Absolute Truth...This belief in the connectivity from our God to Jesus to the Holy Spirit- gives us and life morality, a meaning, a purpose, and hope in not only our current lives, but our next one to come...
