1 John 4:13-19
God is LOVE
13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us.
John 14:6
The Way, the Truth, and the Life
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 15:9-17
Jesus Teaches Us about Love
9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.
God is LOVE...And God LOVED us first...So we know and have learned love from Him...
When we love, we try to be and do our best, even though sometimes we fall short...But we do not always fulfill this complete and completeness of love, but the trying is very important...When we do fall short in love is alright, if we keep trying...We are LOVED by our Father, and loved by our spouse, family, and our friends- this gives us this reason for trying and to keep trying...When we keep trying we see that God LOVES us and He is full of Grace and Truth...Then we better see the world from our indwelt Holy Spirit's view...Then everything around us is viewed in a better and more positive way...
This is Jesus' last commands: Love each other...I might think that this is the Jesus view...He might have been referring to this Way when He referred to Himself as the Way...This Way is the Way of Love...It is the Way of loving and the Way we are to love each other...
