1 John 4:7-21
God is LOVE, and We Love Because He Loved Us First
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
Jeremiah 29:13
Seek God With All Your Heart
13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
John 14:6
Jesus is Truth
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Does mankind need mystery?...Do we need love?...And why do we love?...It is often said God works in mysterious ways...If this is true, and since God always does things for a reason, then He must like mystery (again only if this is true)...Love is the ultimate mystery...Or should that be in the form of a question, is love the ultimate mystery?...In the loves of our lives, do we need mystery?...In a world without mystery, and dreams, and hopes -could there be love?...Are mystery, wonder, hope, faith, love all tied together somehow?...
God is LOVE...And God does seem mysterious...And love is a mystery, because there is this great mystery in LOVE...Love is exciting and its mystery is eternal...It takes many words to define love, because of its mystery...Can one put down enough words to explain what love is?...Or will someone in love read their definition of love, and say something is missing, for the one I love I have this in our relationship -and you have omitted it...
In love we find wonder, we dream in love, and we have hope in love...Our wonder, our dreams, and our hopes are part of this mystery of love...It seems we need wonder, dreams, and hopes to fulfill our loves...
And love in a sense is having this sense of wonder, this dream, and this great hope that love will endure...And in God, who is LOVE, there is this Great Mystery, this Great Dream, this Great Hope that eternity and an eternal heaven is out there somehow...God is LOVE...And I believe in God, because I believe love is an eternal mystery...Love can only be explained by God...And I also believe that LOVE comes from the heart...When we seek those those things from the heart, we find Truth, and we in Truth we find our LORD...
