John 14:6
I AM Truth
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
1 Corinthians 13:11-13
Faith, Hope, and Love
11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Faith is a belief, each of us hold...Almost everyone has some kind of faith...Faith ties many things together...What you believe ties what you believe together...Maybe those who have completely no faith, never think about a religion or creation or God...But when we really think about our personal belief system, whether we are a non-believer or a believer, we have to have a faith that our belief system and the things we believe in or do not believe in -do in fact exist, or they do not exist...Only those who do not think about these things at all, may not have a faith...But both believers and non-believers must have faith for what they believe in...Because these two groups both believe in something...And why do any of us believe in anything...We believe in what we believe, because we personally think what we believe in is true, for one reason or another...But because our beliefs are personal and requires some faith, we cannot prove many of the things we believe in...This is the case for both believer or non-believer...
The most important things in life might be completely surrounding by one's faith and what we believe in...St. Paul wrote about the three great virtues in life of faith, hope, and love...These three things are very important to everyone...I think that believers and non-believers both believe this...But I would like to add Truth to that mix of love, faith, and hope...This is why we believe in things, because we think they are true...Love, faith, hope, and Truth are four of the most important things in our lives...Where would we be without love, our faith, and our hopes in our lives?...Where would we be if there was not Truth, no Absolute Truth in the world?...
And when we think about faith, hope, love, and Truth -we must have both faith to believe in these things...I personally link all these things to God and to faith...The non-believer may disagree, but read one's definition of each of these things...Write down your definition of these things and read them back to yourself...How are you defining them?...And what is interesting about these most important issues is that they are more or less ethical issues -and do require this faith and your personal belief in them...And these subjects are emotional...How can we and how do we go about proving and explaining what love, hope, faith, and Truth are?...How does one describe personal emotions and personal feelings?...How exactly would you go about proving what love is?...How do you prove what faith is?...We explain them through our personal beliefs, our faith, and personal examples about those we love, or our faith, our hopes...We try explaining them through relationships and how we feel personally, and how these things affect our lives...We explain them maybe most often in how the affect us and our feelings and lives...So to believe in these very important things, one needs faith -when we really think about them...And in these personal beliefs of ours, there somehow is this Over-Arching Thought or Belief, that what we believe in is true...But we should know that our personal beliefs and truths are not universal, but are in fact, ours alone...That is what makes this Over-Arching Thing of what we believe in, interesting and somehow does feel universal...It is as if something is guiding us toward our own Truths...
And these things are very personal to each one of us...They are about how we feel and feel about ourselves...They are as much about how we feel about morality and ethics, and they are about what we personally believe and think...And because these things cannot be proven with certainty, love, faith, hope, and Truth have doubt interlaced throughout them...Can you explain love, hope, and Truth without using your faith?...The only way we can explain that Jesus is Absolute Truth is by our faith...The only way we can truly say that Jesus resurrected is by our faith...The only way we can say there is life after death is by one's faith...But the only true way a non-believer can say for sure that Jesus did not resurrect, is by his faith...He has taken the Bible and what the Disciples saw and wrote about after Jesus died and have omitted it from his proof and his belief...That is a faith a non-believer has...It is no different in those believing, He rose on the third day...The non-believer can call it what he wants but it is a belief that he personally thinks did not happen...The believer just personally believes that it did happen...
