1 John 2:15-17
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
Romans 3:10-11
No One Seeks the LORD
10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; 11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.
John 14:6-7
Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
The highs in our life as viewed differently than the lows in our lives...How do we view God from these two different views?...
I think most of us like life, when it goes our way, when we are on this so-called high...Where do these so called life's highs come from and are they permanent?...Life seems easier and more fun as it goes our way...We may seek God less when things are always going our way...We are more likely to things our way, when things are always going right...I believe, when troubles come, we pray more, or at least I do...It seems to me, that we often view our lives as going good when we are receiving and having things going our way...So when life seems to be going our way, when we get those things we want, it is hard or at least harder to focus on God...Our attention is less on God and more on those things going on around us that are going well and good...And I believe we listen less to Him when things are going our way...So when things are going our way, or most of the time going our way, it is harder to do His Will or want to do His Will when things are easy and fun and going our way...
Our way seems to be more driven by our desires, our pleasures, and our personal happiness...But no matter how much we desire, we desire more...No matter what our pleasure is today, we want it better and different the next time...And our personal happiness seems to fade in and out and come and go...This world is only fleeting to us, and it is shown very much in our desires, our pleasures, and our happiness...Can our way even be achieved?...As one looks back on their own life, has it gone the way they thought it would go?...
I think we need to ponder at times what is my way...Has my life turned out as I expected?...And then ask and ponder, what is The Jesus Way...After all, Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life...Jesus' Way has a sense of purpose and meaning and is eternal...Jesus Way is a Way to a Kingdom, away from earthly things and earthly desires...It is a place and a Kingdom of eternal salvation...
When God wants to get our attention He knows what to do...Over time God's Will does get done...God is forever...
