- Dead Faith (vv. 14 – 20)
- Paul and James are not standing face-to-face confronting each other; they're standing back-to-back fighting two common enemies (in the church).
- Empty confession
- Empty Compassion (vv.15 – 17)
- Empty Conviction (vv. 18 – 20)
- Living Faith (vv. 21 – 26)
- Abraham and Rahab
- Abraham was a Jew, Rahab was a Gentile
- Abraham was a man, Rahab was a woman
- Abraham was a patriarch, Rahab was a Prostitute
- Abraham was a friend of God, Rahab belonged to a people who were an enemy of God
- They are both justified by their works.
“In the eyes of God you are justified by faith because when you claim to be a Christian God looks at your heart...” “But in the eyes of other people, how do they know you are a believer?”
