Some clues to give a supposition.
- “As it was in the days of Noah” (Matt. 24:37-38)
- Noah walked with God. (Gen 6:9)
- When you walk with someone, you are friends with them. In every aspect of life, there is this walk. It conjurers up peace, knowledge, emotional knowledge. In essence, communion.
- No mention of the sons. Presumably they were not considered righteous.
- Noah's wife was alive after the ark made land and all had exited the ark. (Gen 8:15)
- Noah's wife died between Gen. 9:17 and Gen. 9:20.
- Noah got naked and then drunk. He was hurting.
- From personal experience going through grief and pain, when there is no wine and no drugs, nakedness is a help. See also; Peter after he realizes everything and his remorse. (John 21:7 YLT)
- In these days, everything became corrupt. All flesh. (Gen. 6:11) “As in the days of Noah” (Matt. 24:37-38)
- Everything had sex attached to it. Violence, even to the institution of 1 man - 1 woman marriage. All flesh had experienced corruption, that is sex and lust, agreed?
- Today, there are people being raised in childhood believing sex and lust with anything and/or everything is normal.
- The sons came from this culture. Gen 9:24. Besides getting cursed, Ham's wife never gave him another child after this. The other two sons had more children after this incident. (Gen 10)
Suppositions: 1) Noah got drunk and naked because of his wife's death.
2) Noah's son Ham, practiced the old culture he came from and was cursed for it.
3) Pain of Noah's wife death not mentioned because God shared in the pain.
