Excerpt: The Matrix (1999)
Have you ever stood and stared at [this reality], marveled at [this reality’s] beauty, its genius? Billions of people just living out their lives, oblivious. Did you know that the first [earth] was designed to be a perfect human world. Where none suffered. Where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed that we [demons] lacked the [knowledge] to [build] your perfect world. But I believe that as a species, human beings define their reality through misery and suffering. So the perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. Which is why the [earth] was redesigned to this, the peak of your civilization. I say your civilization because as soon as we [demons] started thinking for you it really became our civilization which is of course what this [reality] is all about. Evolution, [people], evolution, like the dinosaur. Look out that window [of time]. You had your time. The future is our world, [people]. The future is our time.
I'd like to share a revelation during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You are a plague, and we [spirits] are the cure.
Can you hear me, [people]? I'm going to be honest with you. I hate this place, this zoo, this prison, this reality, whatever you want to call it. I can't stand it any longer. It's the smell, if there is such a thing. I feel saturated by it. I can taste your stink. And every time I do I feel I have somehow been infected by it. It's repulsive, isn't it? I must get out of here. I must get free and in [your soul] is the key, my key. Once [heaven] is destroyed (new heaven and new earth) there is no need for me to be here, don't you understand? I need the Christians. I have to get inside [heaven], and [I am going to find out] how. [Through God’s people I will find out] or [you all are] going to die.
