Four reasons Israel fell away from God.
- They were satisfied with the status quo.
- “These Canaanites are all not that bad”, “We don't need to drive them out, there is enough land for the both of us”,
- Never be satisfied with where you are at spiritually. Always be aware of the fact that there is always more to learn. There is more in your life that can change. Perhaps more in your life that can be uprooted.
- They took God's blessings for granted and did not acknowledge Him. (Duet. 6:10-12)
- They neglected God's Word.
- They became like the enemies they were supposed to conquer.
- First step away from the Lord for believers is to become friends with the world. (James 4:4)
- Which leads to be spotted by the world (James 1:27)
- Then they love the world. (1 John 2:15)
- And gradually be conformed to this world. (Rom. 12:2)
- Then being condemned with the world. (1 Corin. 11:32)
