I have been reminded how important names are to God. Then was referred to the "I AM". I remembered the Mechanical Translation work being done by Jeff A. Benner http://www.mechanical-translation.org/. Being a technician I thought this was the greatest thing I have ever seen. Yes, it still may be. But, then other things came into view. I went to the Mechanical Translation once again to see where Mr. Benner had translated the name God in Exodus 3:14, the "I AM". I contemplated. Names are important. Then why did Mr. Benner translate different than others? I was going to write him. I looked into the context. I saw translations translate the hebrew word "who" to "which". And saw the "which" translations having to do with everything not connected to a person "whom". Then it hit me. This work is a total reflection of the mechanical side of things (the bible). He has to translate this way because that is what he is called out to do, his work. Everything that has to do with anything not mechanical, has to be interpreted as mechanical. And Mr. Benner leaves out the "who's". I realize now, that this great piece of work will be excellent in description of only anything mechanical. We, I, must remember, for a mechanical translation of an event, Mr Benner's work would be a great translation to go to.
"The Matrix" painted a picture of God as mechanical. This I knew was not the complete truth. As we all know God is a person - with worth, value, and dignity (M. Driscoll). This presentation too, removes the who.
God is both. The who and the thing. Everything. Being infinite is infinite in realities, in and out, all, more than a mere man can comprehend. To which, I will not go further to delve into.
