Contact the News Revenue Hub OR do it yourself....
If you're unsure of whether you're going to do it right, simply email support@fundjournalism.org and they are happy to take care of it to make sure it's done right. However, it's also pretty easy to do yourself if you know what you're doing. Most instructions on the NRH Knowledge Base site, but last time I checked they weren't right on there, but the below instructions ARE correct. Here they are:
- Cancel the recurring donation
Canceling, stopping or closing the recurring donations is done by changing the Status field from “Active” to “Closed.”
Make sure you’re on the recurring donations record, and not another related record. If it doesn’t look like this, you haven’t found the right thing yet. The fastest way to find a donor’s recurring donation is to find their contact using the global search bar, and then clicking the related tab to find their recurring donation.
To close the recurring donation, which will prevent the donor from being charged again, change that status from active to closed, and click save.
- Respond to the donor
--be sure to alter this email to make sense for the situation.--
Hi [donor name],
No problem at all. Your recurring donation has been canceled.
Thank you so much for your donations to and support of Matter thus far! It has meant a lot and we appreciate it. We are always open to any feedback about why you canceled your donation, if you have any to share.

"Jamie emailed on 1/5/23 requesting the monthly donation be canceled. I emailed back on 1/5/23 confirming it is canceled."

Changing this will update future transactions, but won’t affect transactions that have already happened. To do that, change the amount field and click save.
