Hi [customer],
Follow this link to update your card info and please let me know if you run into any issues. Thank you so much for your donations to and support of Matter! It has meant a lot to our tiny team and we appreciate it.
Have a wonderful day!
Cassie
To change the recurring donation, open Stripe and go to "customers" tab on left. Click "email" to search by the donor's email address and their profile will appear. Click and you should see "subscriptions" to the right and from there you can alter it.
If you need to make other changes, send email to support@fundjournalism.org.
--be sure to alter this email to make sense for the situation.--
Hi [donor name],
Wow, thank you so much for your continued and increasing support of our independent news nonprofit!
I have updated your donation amount and that should be reflected during your next monthly auto-debit.Â
Your support means a whole lot to our tiny team and helps keep the news free for all regardless of income.
Have a wonderful rest of your week!

If you're unsure of whether you're going to do it right, simply email support@fundjournalism.org, however, it's also pretty easy to do yourself if you know what you're doing. Most instructions on the NRH Knowledge Base site, but last time I checked they weren't right on there, but the below instructions ARE correct. Here they are:
To close the recurring donation, which will prevent the donor from being charged again, open Stripe and go to "customers" tab on left. Click "email" to search by the donor's email address and their profile will appear. Click and you should see "subscriptions" to the right and from there you can alter it.

Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Deposit into our Huntington Checking Account
Send the donor a thank you letter in the mail
Add the donation manually to Salesforce
Log into Facebook business manager
Professional dashboard
Go to "nonprofit manager" in left pane
Download donation reports from there
Add those donors into Salesforce
Once per month:
Log into both nonprofit.yourcause.com and cybergrants.com/nationwide/npo
Access recent donation info and add donation to Salesforce
Log into Salesforce
Go to "reports" section
There are a bunch of diff reports favorited in there.
Some common ones include "Master NewsMatch 22", "current members"
For NewsMatch, we have to take the report we get from Salesforce and add some columns for manual tracking. See here, "NM"Â tab.
Note that the "first gift date" and "donation installment" columns help us know if they are a new donor or not, if it's recurring, etc.
We have to manually check which kind of donor they are (new 1-time, new monthly, existing monthly, etc.)
We also try to track which platform they came from (ig, twitter, email, etc.) and which team member solicited the donation or had the connection
If someone is signed up for monthly donations and their card isn't charging for several months in a row, email the donor using the "recurring donation on hold" template in Salesforce.
These are due by 1/31 every year!
Go into Salesforce and export report "EOY Receipts"
Create a new audience in Mailchimp and name it "EOY Receipts"
BEFORE importing the contacts to the audience, first go into your new audience and go to:
"settings"
"sign up forms"
"settings"Â
"audience fields and *lMERGEl* tags"
Add a new "number" field
Name it the same name as the name of the column in the spreadsheet that has the total dollar amount of gifts for the year - likely "Total Gifts Last Year"
Go to email templates
select the template "EOY Receipts"
Select the new audience as recipients.
Go into body of email where the $ is and right after it click "merge tags" (next to text formatting options) and select the merge tag you created ("Total Gifts Last Year")
To double check that the merge fields are populating correctly, enter "preview" mode and toggle on "enable live merge tag info" on the right.
Send email
When you're finished, delete the audience
