In March 2021, Grey Matter Media received its own 501c3 status from the IRS and the team has been working since to transition all financial operations over to GMM, as we intend to begin operating Matter totally independently under GMM beginning 10/1/21.

We were fiscally sponsored by the Institute for Nonprofit News til October 21 since our inception, allowing us to accept tax deductible donations for Matter without our own 501c3 charitable status.
