Topic: Unit 9.SPORTS, GAMES AND ACTIVITIES . Sb p.55
Grammar: must, mustn’t, have to, don’t have to
Use must + infinitive without to
Must is a modal verb, and modal verbs are followed by an infinitive without to.
I must to go to the doctor.
I must go to the doctor.
Use must/mustn’t in negatives and questions
Must is an auxiliary verb. This means that it has a negative and an interrogative form. Do not use do/did in negatives and questions.
We mustn’t arrive early.
Must we arrive early?
Use do and did in negatives and questions
The verb have in have to is not an auxiliary verb. Use do/don’t, does/doesn’t, did/didn’t in questions and negative sentences in present and past.
Do you have to get up early tomorrow?
Did you have to buy a new sound card?
We don’t have to stay until the end.
Past and future forms
Only have to has a past and a future form. Must does not have a past or a future form.
Yesterday, I must take a taxi.
Yesterday, I had to take a taxi.
You will must take a taxi if it rains tomorrow.
You will have to take a taxi if it rains tomorrow.
We use have to to talk about rules and obligations, something that is necessary.
I have to get to work before 7 tomorrow.
The car broke down and we had to call a taxi.
Must is very similar to have to. We use must + infinitive (without to) to talk about rules and obligations.
I must go to the doctor.
I must get up early tomorrow.
If you don’t have to do something, it means that you ‘don’t need to’ do something (there is no obligation). You can do it but you don’t need to do it if you don’t want to do it.
You don’t have to pick me up at the station. I can take a taxi. (=You can pick me up, but you don’t need to do it).
Use mustn’t to talk about something that you can’t do. It’s necessary that you don’t do it.
You mustn’t call me before 8. (=You can’t call me before 8.)
I mustn’t lose my concentration now.
You don’t need to do it; not necessary; no obligation
Don’t have to and mustn’t have opposite meanings. We say that we don’t have to do something when we don’t need to do something; we can do it, but it’s not necessary.
You don’t have to wait here. (=You can do it, but it’s not necessary)
Prohibition; it’s necessary that you don’t do it
We say that we mustn’t do something when we cannot do something; it is necessary that we don’t do something.
You mustn’t wait here. (=You cannot do it; it’s against the rules)

Future with will
We normally use WILL to speak about the future. It is always combined with another verb.
Examples of Will:
I will go to the cinema tonight.
He will play tennis tomorrow.
They will take the bus to the South next week.
We use WILL in the following circumstances:
1. For things that we decide to do now. (Rapid Decisions Швидкі рішення )
This is when you make a decision at that moment, in a spontaneous way.
I'll call a taxi for you.
I think we'll go right now. (I just decided this right now)
Which one? Um, I will have the chicken sandwich please.
2. When we think or believe something about the future. (Prediction передбачення )
This can be based on personal judgement or opinion.
The President will not be re-elected at the next election.
I think it will rain later so take an umbrella with you.
Notice how you often use "I think..." before the subject + will.
3. To make an offer, a promise or a threat (загроза)
You look tired. I'll finish the dishes for you.
I will do my best to help you.
If you say anything I will kill you!
I will have it ready by tomorrow.
I'll drive you to work if you want.
Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. (won't = will not)
4. For a habit that is a predictable behaviour
My daughter will fall asleep as soon as she is put into bed.
He will give up if he starts losing. He always does that.
5. You use WON'T( will not )when someone refuses to do something.
I told him to clean his room but he won't do it.
She won't listen to anything I say.
In the negative, we add NOT to the end of WILL and not to the main verb. (= will not)
Examples:
I will not be in the office tomorrow. (correct)
I will be not in the office tomorrow. (Incorrect)
They will not stay here. (correct)
They will stay not here. (Incorrect)

LISTENING
How do you say these dates?
For dates in spoken English we always use an ordinal number for the day. We say: the fourth of July and not four of July. Fourth (4th) is an ordinal number
We say: first, second and third. 1st, 2nd 3rd Notice when written as numbers, they end in ST, ND or RD.
In British English, or in most of the rest of the world, the day comes first before the month So that the same day is: the seventh of March (7th March)
So you would say the year is 1066 ten sixty-six 1652 sixteen fifty-two 1941 nineteen forty-one
For the year 2000 you say the year two thousand. For the years 2001 to 2010 -2001 (two thousand and one) 2008 (two thousand and eight)

https://wordwall.net/uk/resource/5703627/adverbs-adjectives
Adverbs (Прислівник )Вони відповідають на питання «як?», «куди?», «де?», «коли?» тощо і в реченні виступають в якості обставини.
adverbs of manner
accurately – точно, акуратно badly – погано carefully – уважно, обережно quickly – швидко slowly – повільно well – добре, гарно fast – швидко hard – тяжко, жорстко so – так straight – прямо, просто, відверто
adverbs of place
here – тут outside – зовні above – зверху somewhere – де-небудь, десь near – поруч
adverbs of time
already – вже early – раніше lately – в останній час, нещодавно recently – днями, в останній час yet – все ще, поки що
adverbs of frequency
again – знову almost – практично, майже always – завжди ever – коли-небудь frequently – часто
simple adverbs- складаються з одного кореня без суфіксів або префіксів.
hard – тяжко soon – скоро well – добре when – коли
This work is really hard.
derivative adverbs (похідні прислівники )-утворюються за допомогою різноманітних суфіксів та префіксів. В більшості випадків вони утворюються від прикметників шляхом додавання суфіксу -ly. Це найпоширеніші та найуживаніші прислівники.
carefully – обережно, акуратно slowly – повільно quickly – швидко
заміна -y на -i: якщо прислівник закінчується на -y, то -y меняємо на -i, и додаємо -ly.
happy (щасливий) → happily (щасливо)
easy (легкий) → easily (легко)
We make comparative and superlative adverbs using the same rules as for comparative and superlative adjectives. For example:
One syllable: Jill works fast. > faster > fastest
One syllable ending in –e: They arrived late. > later > latest
Two or more syllables: Alan finished the test quickly. > more quickly > most quickly
well: She speaks English well. > better > best
badly: She speaks German badly. > worse > worst
far: He'll go far. > farther/further > farthest/furthest
