Mount Auburn, founded in 1831 and designated a National Historic Site, is one of the country's most significant designed landscapes. Join docent (and BOLLI SGL) Helen Abrams for a 60-minute walking tour highlighting the history, important monuments, horticulture, architecture and sculpture of this beautiful and unique place of comfort and inspiration. The tour will take place at 11 am, Friday, September 20, with lunch following at a nearby restaurant. To reserve your space, please click here. The fee for this tour is $6 per person, payable via Venmo (preferred) or check. Deadline for payment is Friday, September 13.
Please note that 60 minutes will limit what we can see but we can definitely hit some of the highlights.
We will meet just outside the Visitor's Center. Parking is available across from this location or immediately to the right after entering the cemetery. You may also park in the cemetery on any road without a green line, but please keep all wheels on the pavement to protect grass and plantings. The cemetery is easily accessible from the number 73 and 71 bus lines.
Visitors can find a water fountain by the public restrooms at the Entrance. Please do not drink from the water spigots on the grounds as this is not potable water.
