Walking Trip: Victorian Back Bay

April 28

CANCELLED

THIS TRIP HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF PARTICIPATION.

Join us as we take a 90 minute stroll through Back Bay, led by a tour guide from Boston By Foot.  This walk is a private tour and will traverse a little over half a mile on level ground.  We will explore how Boston’s Back Bay was filled in to become one of the United States’ richest collections of art and architecture.  High points include Trinity Church, the Boston Public Library, Old South Church and grand Back Bay townhouses. We will walk back in time to uncover splendid examples of Victorian architecture.

The tour begins at 10:30 am at the Trinity Church in Copley Square and concludes at the John Hancock Building at noon. It will run rain or shine.  Participants are advised to arrive at least 10 minutes early. A group lunch at a nearby restaurant (individually paid) concludes the day.

The cost of this tour is $17.50 per person, which can be paid by check or Venmo to Marsha Semuels, 18 Bellevue Road, Belmont MA 02478.  You may direct questions to her at mhsemuels@gmail.com.  Deadline for receipt of payments in April 21.

Please note that this tour is being offered as a pilot program, with the number restricted to 12 people, BOLLI members only.  If demand is strong, we will partner with Boston by Foot for additional private tours during the spring, summer and fall.
