This class is open to any freshman, sophomore, junior or senior interested in improving their level of physical fitness. This class will consist of various flexibility, running, agility, and lifting exercises. Testing will be conducted to indicate any improvement in growth and performance. Testing occurs three times throughout the school year. The first testing is in the fall to get a baseline on where each student is at with their strength and physical fitness. We will test again in the winter and then in the spring. Students must improve in their fitness to earn the grade they want in this class. Weightlifting will be three times a week and then plyometrics will be done on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This class is recommended for only those students who are truly interested in this form of activity and who are interested in and willing to work independently toward their own physical improvement. A students grade is determined on 10 daily points and 10 improvement points which are given for winter testing and spring testing. The 10 daily points consist of: dressing out, respect (classmates, teacher, and equipment), effort, and participation.
