INTRODUCTION TO HORTICULTURE

This semester class is open to any student in grades 10-12. This class will cover basic skills in horticulture, greenhouse, and floriculture including greenhouse management, plant production, fertilizers and chemicals, and houseplants. This class will involve many hands-on activities including plant production in a greenhouse, household plant production, and many other related activities. Greenhouse crops will include poinsettias, houseplants, and all preparation for spring bedding plant production. This class is an excellent combination with the nursery, landscape, and greenhouse class (offered 2nd semester). Students Supervised Agricultural Experience Programs and record keeping are a part of this class.
