The Beginning Guitar class is intended for students with little to no experience on the guitar. It allows students the opportunity to experience music through the study of the guitar.
Students will learn the history of the guitar, care and maintenance, open and barre chords, chord changes, note reading, playing melodies, bass lines, scales, improvisation, and various styles.
The guitar class meets all national standards set forth by the National Association for Music Education. Students perform at the Christmas (December) and POPS (May) concerts. A limited number of school owned instruments are available for use, otherwise students may supply their own guitar and accessories (picks, strings, strap).
