This course develops students’ communication and public speaking skills with an emphasis on agricultural topics and leadership. Students will learn how to organize ideas, research topics, and deliver effective speeches for a variety of audiences. Instruction will focus on speech structure, voice control, confidence, and the use of visual aids.
Students will prepare and present multiple types of speeches including informative, persuasive, and extemporaneous presentations. Emphasis will also be placed on skills used in FFA Leadership Development Events (LDEs), such as prepared public speaking and extemporaneous speaking. Through practice and feedback, students will build confidence and the communication skills necessary for leadership roles in FFA, school, community, and future careers.
