ADVANCED GUITAR

The Advanced Guitar class is intended for students who have previous experience playing the guitar. Students who have not taken Beginning Guitar may take Advanced Guitar by demonstrating proficiency on their instrument; including open chords, note reading, and barre chords.

The Advanced Guitar Class is a continuation of the skills and methods learned in Beginning Guitar. Subjects explored included: songwriting, building a set list, and working as a professional musician.

The guitar class meets all national standards set forth by the National Association for Music Education. Students perform at the Christmas (December) and POPS (May) concerts. A limited number of school owned instruments are available for use, otherwise students may supply their own guitar and accessories (picks, strings, strap).
