BIOLOGY

This course deals with the structural, functional, behavioral, and ecological concepts of the six major kingdoms of living organisms. The class will also include genetics, introductory microbiology, and introductory human anatomy and physiology. Coursework will involve lectures, class discussions, laboratory work, and projects. Students will be graded on daily work, quizzes, labs, projects, and tests. Tests will be given regularly covering the details of the main concepts discussed. Students will be required to follow proper scientific methods and safety procedures during lab activities.

Prerequisite: All students completing Physical Science with a grade of "C" or better for both semesters may take Biology. Those students not earning a grade of "C" in Physical Science may take Biology with permission from the instructor and principal.
