Prerequisite: Grades:10,11,12Credits: 10Credit Type: ElectiveOffered: Year-Long Course

The purpose of this course is to expand the students welding skill and knowledge through the rigor of dual credit welding courses. Through the completion of 4 semesters of welding in the SENCAP program a student will receive a welding certificate through SCC. Areas of welding emphasis are SMAW 1, SMAW 2, GMAW, and OA. Each course will result in different welding aspects that will prepare students for successful careers outside of Tri County Schools. The school covers the cost of the dual credit welding course as long as the student maintains a C+ in the course.

Safety is stressed at all times and a proper clean up and tools appreciation attitude will be needed. It is recommended that students have coveralls and leather gloves for this class. No students will be allowed in the shop with shorts or cut-off jeans. Students will be required to provide their own welding jacket.

There will be a $35 shop fee charged to cover the costs of consumable supplies. An additional charge may apply for students who want to purchase a welding jacket through the school.
