GEOMETRY

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Algebra I. This course can be taken with Algebra I or Adv Algebra with teacher recommendation.Grades: Credits: 10Credit Type: MathOffered: Year Long Course

This course will introduce students to Euclidean geometry. This course will teach students to apply geometry to the real world and solve real world problems using geometric properties and techniques. Students will be required to use algebraic techniques to describe geometric phenomena, and a strong background in algebra is necessary. Topics for this course will include, but not be limited to: reasoning and proof for congruence and similarity, parallel and perpendicular lines, congruent triangles, triangle relationships, polygons, quadrilaterals, similarity, right triangle trigonometry, reflections, rotations, translations, dilations, composite transformations, surface area, perimeter, volume, and circles.
