This introductory ceramics course explores the art of working with clay, focusing on both hand-building techniques and an introduction to the potter’s wheel. Students will learn foundational skills such as slab, coil, and pinch construction, as well as glazing and surface decoration methods. Through hands-on projects, students will develop an understanding of form, function, and artistic expression while studying historical and contemporary ceramic artists. Emphasis will be placed on creativity, craftsmanship, and problem-solving.
