At last year's E-DOT, we learned about the exact opposite perspective. Goldfish scooping was proposed for the school festival. However, there was an opinion that what to do for children who don't like fish, so we decided on goldfish scooping and yo-yo fishing. We learned the importance of broadening our perspective and changing our viewpoint, rather than just looking at things subjectively and one-sidedly.
If you ask people from Bingo about Bingo, you won't get a good answer. Students also say that there is "nothing" in Bingo. However, if you change your perspective, the story changes dramatically. As a way to change that perspective, this "Bingo Academic s" event will have students interact with high school students from overseas.
To help us develop this perspective, we will have Professor Shi Xiaojun, a special professor at Himeji Dokkyo University, give a lecture. Professor Shi is a leading expert on Japan-China exchanges. (Note 1) One of Professor Shi's research results that appears in high school Japanese history and world history is "The Son of Heaven Where the Sun Rise." There is an incident in which a letter sent by Prince Shotoku caused Emperor Yang Guang of Sui to speak furiously. In the past, Japanese historians explained the reason why Emperor Yang Guang was so angry by talking about East-West relations.

Sunrise is the place where the sun rises, the morning sun,
giving a powerful impression. Sunset is the place where the
sun sets, giving a weak impression. This is why Emperor
Yangguang was so angry, he explained. Professor Shi
demonstrated that the real reason was not East-West
relations, but the word "Son of Heaven" more than 30
years ago. This shocked the historical society at the time.
This is an example that shows a tendency that Japanese
people often see when they look at Japan. Now that you
mention it, Luoyang (note 2), which was admired by the
Heian nobles, also becomes "fall" if you add a grass crown.
In other words, it is the yang (sun) of the falling place.
(note 2),The journey to Kyoto is the same as that of
Shangluo. The famous names of the Warring States Period
were Tokugawa Shogun, Kyōto, and Kamikata. The reason
the urban area of Kyoto is called 'Rakuchu' is that it is
likened to the city of Luoyang.
