Artist inspired project

Artist: Robert Mcgehee

Inspiration: Wood Burning, patterns

Artist: Kathy Klein

Inspiration: Floral designed Mandala

for this project we had to come up with a project to do at the end of the art history unit for an artist inspired project. as i have probably said before i like drawing flowers or floral patterns because they are just more comfortable to me to draw and they are more fun for me to draw too. i have also had some experience with using wood burning and wood carving tools so i wanted to incorporate it into my project in some way so i made up some sort of flower design mandala and drew it onto a wooden disk and i wood burned on top of the lines to create my final design

i used a wooden disk, graphite pencils, hand held woodburner, exacto knife

i think that i did well on this project even though i think that i could have done better, i mean i do like it but i dont think i like it enough to want to turn it in yet i need to do something else to it so that i can like it and so i can be proud of it so i dont think that it was just a waste of time, other than that i think my only problem was getting the burn line to be the same with across the whole piece.
