A Beautiful Oops

Reflection

Prompt: a beautiful oops

8"x11"

graphite and colored pencils. watercolor paper.

The prompt of this was to look at all sides of the paint splatter and turn it into something. what I saw in mine was a fish, so I drew this. This is a monster fish in dark waters but is colorful but they are happy with who they are and are bright. It's seeing its reflection of being normal which is what he wants, in colorful waters somewhere beautiful but, he is dark and lonely because he is perfect.

I used a 2H and 6B graphite pencil and colored pencil, watercolor paper, Sharpe fine super tip marker.

When I first started I did not think that I would have a fish seeing its reflection of what it would be if it was perfect and normal. At first, I thought that I would have one koi fish in a pond, with some rocks and lily pads with lilypad flowers. But that would have been easy and without a story, I tried many different things before I got to this and I am glad that I went with it.
