for this assignment we had to create two lidded jars that were roughly orange size, i wanted to create something that was slightly smaller than that so i mad one that was a little smaller than the other one. the bigger pot has a foot with three spheres that connect the pot to the base and the smaller one is just the lid and the pot with a little spout in the front lip.
in order to make the pots we had to wedge the clay to get all air bubbles out of the classy and any color deficiencies mixed in for a solid color, then we had to pinch the pot to build it up and we had to keep a steady thickness or consistent size throughout the whole pot. then i just created a lid bu making a smaller pinch pot which i fitted t the size of the lip to make it fit. then i just made three spheres and used the scratch and slip technique to attach them together after i let them dry to the leather hard stage. then i replicated the process to the smaller pt but i didn't add any foot instead i just lightly pressed my finger inside the lip of make the spout
in my opinion i don't really like how they look, yes i know that this was the first time in highschool that i had made some pots out of cay so i was very rusty but i think that in the end after the glaze firing they should be fine and if i dont think how they look i can just give it to someone as a gift so they cant say no to taking it. if i had to changed how i did something i think i would go back and re do my scratch and slip attachments and make a lip on the lids so that they would have a better id but other than that i would do anything else
