Historical coil pot

for this project we had to research a historical pot that was 1000 years old at least and recreate it in a more modern way. i was inspired by a wedding marriage pot that was given to the married couple as aa gift with the two spouts coming together connected by the handle. i decided that when i was changing my pot i was going to make it a little bit bigger and the colors changed a lot also i changed the thickness of the spout and handle.

first i started by making a slab and smoothing it out then i started making my coils which i found to be very time consuming so i used the extruding system to create them instead giving me more balanced coils so they are all the same size. then i started working up and building it like a half bowl slightly outwards, and then once i was half way up i went back inwards. after i finished with the sides i made another slab and put it on the top. then i made two holes in the top for the spouts, which then i made more coils to create them cut i did not use the extruding system so they came out a little bit wonky. then i made yet another slab which i smoothed out and attached it between the two spouts to create the handle. i glased it with flambe on the bottom half and cobalt on the top half with it dripping to create the effect that i wanted.

i think that this project came out really good but i do think that i could have changed the speed and efficiency that i was creating it because i was a little time struck and i was being more sloppy then i wanted to. i believe that i could have made the smoothing and coils a little bit better because even though i used the extruding system i still didn't put them together very well and they aren't centered like i wanted them to giving it a more different for then the pot that i was inspired by.
