Sweet Birdy

For my third projects of my SI I forgot my glass fusing stuff at home so I decided that I was going to do something different to change this up a bit. I was originally going to use watercolor and do a peacock because when in doubt do watercolors. But then Mrs. Medsker said that I should try painting on top of the glass insted of doing glass fusing, so that's what I did. I still have to stay in the same inquiry but because my other projects were more dull or cooler toned colors I wanted it to be brighter more happy colors. In result of this I decided to do a humming bird because they are just amazing and I like them a lot, the reason why I also added a red flower is because that is what hummingbirds are drawn to when they are getting nectar, it's their favorite kind of flower.

4x4 inch blue glass plate, puffy paint & acrylic paint

I don't actually mind how it came out, I had a lot of fun making it because I used to play with Puffy paint when I was younger, and I got to experiment with it since this is something new to me.  The only problem that I had was that the puffy paint caps would get cloged so I wpuld have to poke a neadle into them every time I wanted to use it because it would dry so fast, and I also droped it twice so I had to scrape like half of it off and start again. Over all im glad that I chose to change my materials and tryout painting on glass, it was sort of like a color by number when I put my design under it so I could pretty much just copy and paste it on to the glass, but if I would change something I would have done some fusing to parts of the bird or flower and then painted over that because I think that would look really cool.
