Silly Little Seagulls

4x6 inch

For my first SI project I wanted to do something that I liked and that I was interested in doing. I have taken a couple classes before in stained glass and glass fusing, so I thought that it would be fun to do and try out. I decided to do a beach seen with sandpipers but that didn't really work out in the end because they melted more than i wanted to and I had a select amount of colors to work with so they got turned into seagulls which worked out to be just as good. I didn't use any inspiration or reference images because I already knew how I wanted it to look.

I used lots of fusing glass melting coefficient of 96 on a 4X6 inch clear glass plate and some gel superglue

the biggest issue that I ran into was that the Gel super glue doesn't melt off so it left a very textured plate and it kind of bubbled up and hardened into little white bubbles, so on my next one i'm going to change the type of glue that I used so that it would burn off in the kiln. overall im really happy with the way that it turned out and Im excited to do it again.
