For this project I was asked to make an artwork out of blind contour drawings. I needed to draw my hands, and face without looking, and then turn it into one piece. Materials used to make this artwork were sharpie, pencil, and paint. Sharpie was used in the original blind contour drawings. Pencil was used to outline new components to the piece. And paint was used to add color and detail. This art was created by making blind contour drawings of me, by me. I saw the way the first hand was sort of recognizable, and the position, so I added another hand reaching back. The other hand was just a scribble that led towards the other hand so I turned it into part of the background. I then used the face drawing to make craters of the moon, since the art had a space theme. My project evolved from my blind contour drawings into a sketch. This was then painted, and outlined again. I used line to create a pattern on one hand. And used color to show differences in both sides of the piece. I made balance by adding more detail in a hand on one side, and in the opposite background. While the hand with the more detail has a plain background. The story in my work is basically two people who are completely different, and clash. They don’t fit together. And they are destined to end badly. Basically star crossed lovers. This project doesn't really relate to my life. It is just inspired by music I’ve listened to, movies I’ve watched, and books I’ve read. I am proudest of the hands in my artwork, and really the whole thing overall. I like the piece, and I think it looks nice. I struggled with incorporating the face drawing in my piece. It felt kind of out of place in the sketch, but eventually I just started going and it worked out.
