For this project, we were simply instructed to make a design using abstraction, and the principles of design.

We began by getting a chart with various principles of design, and we had to create designs using them. We then used this chart as inspiration for our final pieces. I chose to focus on line, color, and pattern.

I used watercolor for my base and painted it with gouache. I first used multiple greens and blues to create the earth in the bottom corner. I then made the background a really light blue because I didn't want it to be just white. After this, I added a black border. To finish it off I added designs in light blue to make it more interesting.

The meaning of this piece is exploring. I wanted a space theme to represent curiosity. Also, the designs were used to represent the value that we can find in the unknown.
