Duck stamp

This work has two ducks. To be honest I wasn't excited about this project, so when coming up with ideas my last braincell said "gay ducks" (since both ducks drawn here are male). Obviously that really doesn't matter, its just two ducks. Maybe they're having a nice conversation. When choosing a duck, I selected the one that would be easiest and most simple to draw realistically.

This was created using watercolor, charcoal, ink, and chalk pastel pencils. I used charcoal and ink on the feathers of the ducks, and chalk pastel for the orange part of the beak. For the water, I used watercolor.

This work deals with mostly texture, as I was trying to make a realistic drawing. I also dealt with balance, as I made two ducks instead of the original one. I was originally making this project as easily as possible, but decided that adding a second duck would create balance in the drawing. My next steps, if I had to make any, would be to add more detail on the feathers of the birds to make them more realistic, especially using white charcoal for highlights.
