Personal Statement: In my ICT classroom, I provide supports and accommodations to students with a wide range of learning variations and needs. In the classroom I strive to create learning experiences that are accessible to all students. I believe that curriculum should not only address academic and social/ emotional needs, but should also promote social justice. Currently a member of the Equity & Disproportionality team at my school, I work to identify barriers for marginalized students and work collaboratively to create supports and solutions inside the classroom. I graduated from New York University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in childhood and special education and a minor in linguistics, and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction at Bank Street College of Education.
