BIOGRAPHY
Sean Cruz-Colatriano’s passion for art stems from his dreams, where his imagination thrives. He is most interested in mediums like VR and Blender to recreate the worlds he experiences when asleep. He hopes to continue producing art within VR, to make his pieces more immersive in a 360 environment. Sean has also been recently tinkering with audio and video work using Adobe softwares. With more experience in that field, he hopes to start working on his own analog horror series.

This work is inspired by my younger self, whenever I used to wake up in the middle of the night. A lot of the time my eyes would play tricks on me, turning hanging jackets into what looked like a silhouette of a person. This piece reflects my beginner skills in audio and video editing, using both Adobe Audition and AfterEffects.
Sean Cruz-Colatriano, Lucent Swamp, VR, 2 Min, 2024.
Lucent Swamp is a VR animated-illustration inspired by one of my dreams; a bioluminescent marshland with a variety of otherworldly plants and creatures. This 360 degree work showcases the wonder and unreality of what my dream looked like. It incorporates both audio and visual elements that, all together, create an immersive scene that viewers can relax in. My goal with this piece was to focus on the small details that could make an environment realistic within this rather low-poly medium.
Sean Cruz-Colatriano, Underopolis, VR, 1 Min, 2024.
Underopolis is a VR animated scene that depicts one of my dreams where a technologically advanced civilization cultivates underground. A resident of this society sits on a hill, looking back to the dystopian society its just escaped from. My goal with this scene was to focus on the scale and proportions of the surrounding environment — creating realistic perspective and distance from where the viewer sits.
