BIOGRAPHY
Rheya Ravelo is a fourth year Digital Media Art major at San Jose State University. She is currently working towards finishing her B.F.A. in Digital Media Art while also working remotely as a freelance graphic designer. In addition to balancing academics and work, Rheya continues to practice her skills through participating in leadership and media positions within AkbayanSJSU (the Pilipinx-American Organization on campus), along with creating cover art and posters for both upcoming and well-known DJ's.
As an artist, she is well-versed in not only fine art concepts, but technological aspects as well, such as graphic design and basic coding. With the digital art and networking skills she's have developed over time, she have been able to collaborate with local clients and small businesses to create a variety of media posts, apparel, and logos. Aside from professional work, her personal artworks mainly focus on personal experiences. Incorporating my own personal vulnerability within her art leads the audience to learning more about her internal emotions, struggles, and lessons. Her goal through this is to help the audience relate and to let them know that they are not alone. With vulnerability comes growth. When you are most vulnerable, you are open to some of the greatest changes that may occur--growth. With this mindset, she hopes to carry it out to others as it has been carried out to her.
