BIOGRAPHY
Quynh Luong is a Vietnamese-American digital artist hailing from Stockton, California with an interest in comics and 3D modeling. A lot of his inspirations stem from his own upbringing and his desire for better circumstances in terms of social attitudes and an unjust system that contributes to such positions.
With his works, Quynh seeks to offer new avenues to consider previously touched upon topics with an emphasis for acknowledging the good and the bad that people can do and find alternative solutions to deal with the latter.

This piece is based off of a recurring nightmare I’d have throughout my elementary school years where I’d be chased by a standing Buddha robot on tank tracks and eventually caught and consumed. I didn’t think much of religion when I was younger, but this nightmare would actually scare me as I felt helpless in the midst of such an opposing figure.
I appreciate the role that spirituality can take in people’s lives, however I’ve also seen how it can be twisted to justify actions that may run antithesis to the actual doctrine. Thus, this imagery was chosen to represent some of my criticisms of religion.
