About SJPO

  [ About Shinagawa Junior Philharmonic Orchestra(SJPO) ]  

 SJPO (Shinagawa Junior Philharmonic Orchestra)  has established in 2014 as the first junior orchestra of Shinagawa Ward by the Shinagawa Music Culture association, and is active mainly in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo with the aim of developing young people through music.

In the rehearsal, professional conductors and musicians mainly guide the members.

The practice plan is organized systematically from small group lessons to whole ensemble, which is efficient and effective.

After each practice, we use the WEB to give feedback on the exercises for the members each time, and create and share a practice report with the instructor group. 

As a result, detailed and flexible instruction according to each member can be realized, and the member can effectively carry out individual practice at home.

In addition to orchestra concerts, chamber music concerts are also held once a year to improve individual ensemble skills.

On the SJPO practice day, in addition to performance practice, we also have time for lectures on orchestra. By learning musical theories, knowledge of orchestra, and historical background of composers and compositions, members naturally acquire comprehensive musical knowledge.

As described above, SJPO is constantly evolving by continuing the advanced efforts that are unparalleled in other orchestras.

   From the 2nd grade elementary school to the 3rd grade of high school

　 1.Healthy youth development through orchestra activities.

 　2.Fostering musicians who have not only playing skills

    　but also comprehensive knowledge of music overall, 

   　 leadership, cooperation, and sociality． 

　 3.Improvement of music culture in Shinagawa-Ward.
