Tulgar

Most Tulgarians live a nomadic lifestyle. Each spring they will move with their herds to the summer pastures and each autumn back to winter pastures. Some live in tents called yurts the whole year, while other have more permanent structures at their winter pastures.

The nomadic Tulgarians don't fortify their settlements. Instead, those unable to fight will flee at the first sign of attack, while the warriors will mount up and counterattack the attackers from the flanks, maneuvering to avoid heavy causalities.

Tulgarians have full gender equality, including non-binary persons. Traditionally, one part of the household will be the Sureg, the one who does work outside of the home and has final say in matters of the herd and children that are old enough to ride and hunting, and one will be the Tsjok, who tends the hearth, the small children, and works with materials like metal, pottery or woodworking. These roles might change during one’s lifetime, but it’s rare that a household will have two Tsjoks or two Suregs. Households with more than 2 adults can have any combination of these roles.

Tulgarian clans usually consist of several nomadic villages. All villages will have a village chief - Bash and a priest - Darkan that makes sacrifices to the gods.
