A typical settlement

In Triman, several different ways of organising a household are common. In the rural areas, most live in villages surrounded by a wooden palisade to keep out wild animals, and keep the domestic animals inside. Most cities have stone walls and a keep where the noble ruling the city lives. What is on the inside of the palisade or city walls varies from province to province.

In Drevnedub the church is in the center of the village. From there, big houses radiate in a sun pattern. The houses are of wooden logs, with low roofs and tiny windows one can close with wooden shutters. The house has one central oven and is divided in several smaller rooms on the inside, all sharing a wall with the oven for warmth. Here live several generations with their families. When the house becomes to small to fit all the descendants, new houses are built further out, so that one can trace a family from the church to the end of the village. These houses are often connected, so one can reach ones family without leaving the house. Any buildings meant for trade or craft are made as part of these houses as well There are only two cities in Drevnedub. Vailano is built like a big village, only with stone walls and towers. The capital, Dubrovo has several stone walls and the fortress of the kniaz is situated near the church of Svarog, on the opposite side of the town square.
