Kardomir

While the past of the province is rather dark, being originally held by the Black Magii, it has been a strong ally to the tzar in recent years, showing more loyalty to the crown than many other of the Kniazs. The wealth of Kardomir comes from trade with iron which only this duchy produces in Triman. Due to this trade, the kniazi of Kardomir have had a powerful position at court, a position that was strengthened during the reign of king Vsevolod the Cruel. His brother Bezslav had married the kniaginia of Kardomir and was able to bring most of the army of Kardomir into the Tzars war against the beggar knights.
Being close relatives to the late tzar, the kniaginia has now a strong claim to the throne of Triman.
Besides the trade with iron ore, Kardomir is well known for it's scholars and academy, which is the only secular learning institution in Triman. The Kniaginia is a patron of the academy and the arts, maintaining a rich court even in these troubled times.
