A typical settlement

In Triman, several different ways of organising a household are common. In the rural areas, most live in villages surrounded by a wooden palisade to keep out wild animals, and keep the domestic animals inside. Most cities have stone walls and a keep where the noble ruling the city lives. What is on the inside of the palisade or city walls varies from province to province.

Unlike the other villages, the villages of Kardomir have no walls. During the reign of the Black Magi, they were prohibited from having walls, and afterwards there were no enemies for the people to fear. The church is usually located on the outskirts of the village, or the village has no church at all. The villages are usually quite small, often numbering only 30 to 50 houses. There is no noble presence in the villages, in stead the castles of the nobles are located outside the villages.

Completely different are the two big cities: Kardomir Castle and Kniazevo.
Kardomir Castle is a grand city with beautiful stone buildings built by master masons. In the middle stands Kardomir Castle towering over the other buildings. Mansions and academies surround the castle. Then comes the walls of the inner city. Beyond the inner city is the outer city, where craftsmen and merchants dwell. Here are also the barracks of the soldiers and cavalrymen. Surrounding all this is an outer wall.

Kniazevo is built quite different. It is also a stone city, with the church of Svarog in the center surrounded by 4 palaces: the palace of the Kniaz, the palace of learning, the palace of the court and the palace of the judges. Beyond the palaces there are gardens, and then the city itself, with small stone houses for the commoners and larger houses for the nobility. The city is surrounded by a stone city wall with a keep built around the city gate. Both cities have a water filled moat.
