Natalie and Erin had a great time at the March 28th meeting at Dysarts! It was great to catch up and talk about life and stuttering with a friend.

They talked about how our parents handled our stuttering as children; did they talk about it with us?...ignore it?...try to get us help?...just accept it?

They also talked about situations in which they individually stutter more. Natalie has a harder time talking one-on-one with someone, but has no problem presenting in front of a group. Erin, on the other hand, is the complete opposite! Funny how differently stuttering affects us.

Erin had brought in an article called "Stuttering and Marriage" since it's a topic that's been on my mind lately (She is getting married in July). Rather than focusing on the spouse who stuttered, it focused on the feelings/perceptions of the spouse who didn't stutter. Very interesting! The take-home message was that stuttering is a "shared experience." Talk about it together! So that got them talking about the men in their lives :)
