Five of our NSA members were panel guests at the University of Maine graduate SLP class in Fluency Disorders taught by Nancy Hall.  This was their last class of the semester...and of course the highlight of the year for them (of course we are biased about that!)   Natalie, Chris, Ravi, Erin and I were the participants, and the 31 students were welcoming, engaged, open and receptive to our presentation.  Each of us presented a little of our history and what was important to us.  Then the floor was open for questions.  Nancy had them well prepared as this was the week in which they were assigned to "go out into the community and stutter".  They asked insightful question and, I think, were particularly interested in the "hidden" components of stuttering and why is it that "we just don't go out and use those speech tools once we have learned them"!  I'm sure they gained much from our truthful answers and individual perspectives and are going to make great SLPs in the future!
