The E. Maine NSA chapter met last night....it was a "dark and stormy night", attended by 4 brave, stalwart PWS! We missed so many of our "regular" members, but truly it was dark and stormy, and even though our fellowship and table talk was "warm and sunny"... the weather and some illnesses kept most of our group from the table.
On the other hand, it was a great pleasure to welcome a new NSA member, Elijah, a PWS who is also a new grad student in Communication Sciences Disorders at U Maine. We also welcomed an NSA "power couple"!! Two wonderful, NSA long time friends visiting from Southern Maine, George and Hannah Laday. Since it was Elijah's first exposure to an NSA meeting and to even meeting to, talking with "so many" other PWS, we spent the evening telling a bit of our backgrounds and mostly about the NSA, the value of self- help and community support when dealing with stuttering . We talked a lot about the annual conferences and we sure hope we convinced to show up in Atlanta this summer! And..you will all have to wait for upcoming meetings to have opportunity to meet Elijah !
Happy Holidays to you all, as this was our last meeting in 2015. Stay tuned for further meetings in 2016!
