Five of us met on Tuesday on Zoom for a good touch-base and discussion! Maisie showed up as a new grand aunt. The picture of her new grand-niece was so sweet. Chris is now "rehabbing" from a heart attack in May and it was great to see him back in the running. I always appreciate his wise perspectives! Natalie is looking forward to vacation and R &R, and it was great to hear from Andy about all of his activities surrounding the NSA conference in St. Louis; first-timers lead, open mic lead, etc. His wife also attended and helped lead a discussion on partners of PWS! YAY! Maine was well represented in St. Louis. Denver next year! Andy shared some takeaways from the conference and that led to a good discussion about "leaning into your stuttering" and finding that place of acceptance. We all discussed what a journey it is to get to that place, if ever. Marybeth's news is that she and John Wade (from Indiana) will be leading an "NSA Connects" for older adults who stutter on August 13. The topic will be "listening'' and we ended the meeting on that discussion topic! Hope to see all us "older adults who stutter... OAWS! Zooming in on August 13th!
