Last night Shaleen and I had a good meeting at Dysart's. We caught up with our work and lives and then delved into some stuttering issues! I have been reminded anew these past few weeks, having had two sets of guests at the lake, that "competitive talking in a group" is still tough for me! Each family who I entertained have been fast talking and opinionated! (You know the kind!!) It will always be hard for me I suppose. Trying to get your talking turn in, and otherwise staying involved in a conversation is sometimes just tiring. After some talk about it, Shaleen and I decided that sometimes it's just fine to sit back and listen! It's a matter of self preservation! Shaleen talked about it being a period in his career where he may start to seek more opportunities and leadership positions. He has all the skills, but will stuttering hold him back? However, since it has been his peers, who know him well, who have reached out to him... his stuttering has not been a negative for them!

So that was our meeting! Amazing that most of the meeting this year so far have been of the "2 people" variety!!  But... always 2 different people! We are still a vibrant group and looking forward to those times when more that 2-3 at a time can show up!!

We'll definitely meet last week in August. Let me know if one day of week is definitely a no-show, and we'll try to accommodate.

FINALLY....best of luck and congratulations to our very own, Erin, who is getting married tomorrow!!!
